Offshore handling systems specialist, Caley Ocean Systems, has strengthened its sales team with the appointment of John Garratt as engineering sales manager. As a senior mechanical design engineer with Caley, John Garratt specialised in winches, drives and advanced hydraulic system design.

John, a Chartered Engineer with the Institute of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE), has worked at Caley for over 12 years. During this time, he has developed his skills, knowledge and expertise through design testing and on-site commissioning for clients around the world.  Notable projects have included installation and commissioning of the Subsea 7 Borealis friction clamp pipelay system, and the design, development and deployment of the innovative Deepwater Lowering System for subsea deployments in the Gorgon field.
